Terms of service

These terms govern your use of ropiu.com and any order you place with us. By using the site or buying from us, you agree to them. Please read them before you order.

Nothing in these terms reduces your legal rights as a consumer. Where a term here conflicts with the law, the law applies.

1. Who we are

2. Who can order

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract to place an order. By ordering you confirm you are.

3. Placing an order

Putting an item in your basket and paying is an offer to buy, not a completed contract.

  • When you check out, we send an email confirming we have received your order. This is an acknowledgement, not acceptance.
  • The contract between us forms when we email you to say your order has been dispatched.
  • If we cannot accept your order — the item is out of stock, we cannot verify payment, or we have spotted a pricing error — we will tell you and refund anything you have paid in full.

4. Prices and payment

  • Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies.
  • Delivery charges are shown separately before you pay, at checkout.
  • We take payment at the point of order. If we cannot accept the order, we refund in full.
  • We try hard to price things correctly, but errors happen. If an item's price is obviously wrong and you could reasonably have realised it, we do not have to supply it at that price. We will contact you and give you the choice of paying the correct price or cancelling for a full refund.

5. Delivery

  • Our handling time is 5 working days. Once dispatched, delivery normally takes 10  working days within the United Kingdom.
  • Those are estimates. Carriers occasionally run late and we cannot promise a specific delivery date.
  • By law we will deliver within 30 days of the contract forming, unless we agree something different with you in writing. If we miss that, you can cancel and get a full refund.
  • Your order is our responsibility until it is in your hands. If it does not arrive, tell us and we will sort it out. See our Returns & Refunds policy for how.
  • Full details are in our Shipping Policy. If anything there conflicts with this section, the Shipping Policy applies.

6. Returns and refunds

You have a legal right to cancel most orders within 14 days of delivery, and we give you 30 days to change your mind on top of that.

7. Products and how they appear

We describe and photograph our products as accurately as we can.

  • Wood is a natural material. Grain, tone and small variations in finish differ between individual items and are characteristics of the material, not faults.
  • Screen colours vary. A colour on your monitor or phone may not exactly match the item.
  • This does not affect your right to receive goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If an item is genuinely faulty or is not what we described, you are covered — see our Returns & Refunds policy.

8. Age guidance and safe use

Toys carry age markings and warnings from their manufacturer, printed on the packaging or the item. Please read them and follow them, and keep them if you plan to pass the toy on.

Children should be supervised when playing. If you have a question about a specific product before you buy, email us and we will tell you what the manufacturer's documentation says.

9. Using this website

You may use ropiu.com to browse and to place orders. You may not:

  • use the site for anything unlawful, or in a way that damages it or disrupts other people's use of it
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its servers, or connected systems
  • extract, scrape, or systematically copy content from the site
  • submit anything false, abusive, or that infringes someone else's rights

We may suspend or withdraw the site, or refuse an order, if you break these terms.

We try to keep the site available but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice.

10. Intellectual property

The Ropiu name, logo, and the text and page designs we have created are ours, and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may not copy or reuse them commercially without our written permission.

Some product photography on this site is supplied by, or licensed from, our manufacturers and suppliers, and belongs to them. Product names and brand marks belong to their respective owners, and we use them only to identify the products we sell.

You may view, download and print pages for your own personal use.

11. Our liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability where the law does not allow it. In particular, nothing in these terms limits our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987
  • any of your statutory rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015

Subject to that:

  • We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
  • We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or for loss arising from your use of a product in a way it was not intended to be used, or contrary to the manufacturer's instructions and warnings.
  • We supply products for domestic and private use. We are not liable for business losses such as loss of profit, loss of business, or business interruption.

12. Events outside our control

We are not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by something beyond our reasonable control — for example, extreme weather, carrier failure, industrial action, or interruption to networks or utilities. If it happens, we will contact you as soon as we can, and if the delay is substantial you can cancel and receive a full refund.

13. Your personal information

We handle your data as set out in our Privacy Policy.

14. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, email Contact@ropiu.com with your order number and what happened. We aim to reply within one working day and to resolve complaints within [X] working days.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published on this site at the time you placed it. Changes do not affect orders already placed.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of [England and Wales / Scotland].

If you are a consumer, you can bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live. Your statutory rights are unaffected wherever you are.

17. General

  • If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
  • If we do not insist on something you are required to do, or delay in enforcing a term, that does not mean we have given up the right to do so later.
  • This contract is between you and us. Nobody else has a right to enforce it.
